Dear StorySparkle Family,
We have some wonderful news to share with you today. When a child clicks on an unfamiliar English word in one of our stories, StorySparkle doesn't just show a dictionary definition; it explains what that word means in the context of the sentence they're reading, translated into their own language. It's like having a patient, knowledgeable tutor sitting right beside them. Until now, this feature was available in five languages. Today, we're expanding it to 15 languages:

Chinese · Japanese · Korean · Hindi · Bengali · Spanish · Portuguese · Thai · Vietnamese · Filipino · Malay · Lao · Indonesian · Khmer · Burmese

That's hundreds of millions more children who can now read English stories and understand new words in the language they think in.

How to use it:

1. Open any story on StorySparkle.

2. Click on any word you'd like to understand better.

3. The Word Information box appears on the right side of the screen.

4. You'll see a small flag and language name. That's your translation language.

5. Click the down arrow next to it and choose your preferred language.

6. The word's meaning, pronunciation, and part of speech will appear in your chosen language.

That's it. Your language choice is remembered, so you only need to set it once.

This feature is available to everyone — including free accounts. No upgrade required. We believe that understanding a new word should never be behind a paywall.
We built StorySparkle because millions of children around the world want to learn English but don't always have access to the right tools. Every feature we build is measured against a simple question: Does this help a child read better?

We can't do this alone, though. If you're a parent or a teacher, you understand what your children need better than anyone. We'd love to hear from you. What features would make StorySparkle more useful? What's missing?

You can reach us anytime at support@storysparkle.org or through the Contact page on our website. Every suggestion is read by a real person. Children learning to read a global language today will be the ones solving tomorrow's problems. If we can make that journey a little easier, a little more joyful — that's a future worth building toward.

Thank you for being part of this.

Happy reading,

Your StorySparkle Team
